A panda dial is a light dial with dark counters, and this is the cleanest version of it the Seagull 1963 gets. Flat white ground, two black counters at 3 and 9 cut with fine concentric grooves, a black tachymetre ring printed around the outside. Silver batons, silver hands, a red tip on the chronograph hand. The red star and 21 ZUAN sit under 12.

The markers and the hour and minute hands carry lume, which the source page never mentions and the photographs show clearly. They glow green.

The movement is the hand-wound Seagull ST1901 from the ST19 family, a column-wheel chronograph running at 21,600 beats an hour on 21 jewels, good for about 42 hours. You see it through the glass back, blued screws and all. It wants winding daily. The upper pusher starts and stops, the lower resets, and the counter at 3 gathers the minutes up to 30.

Nothing here is opened or swapped; the watch is resold as the factory finished it. Polished 316L steel, 40mm across, 50.5mm lug to lug, under a boxed sapphire. It ships on a 20mm black leather strap with a crocodile emboss and a polished steel buckle, in the tin box. Delivery is 2 to 4 weeks.

Common questions

What is a tachymetre ring for?
Speed. Start the chronograph as you pass a milestone, stop it at the next one a kilometre later, and the number the hand points to on the outer ring is your average speed. Most owners never use it. It is part of how the 1963 dial was drawn.

Is this one of your builds?
No, and it is not a mod. The rest of the catalogue is assembled here in India on Seiko movements. This watch is made by Sea-Gull, comes to us finished and ships in the maker's box.

How is it different from the 42mm White Panda?
The larger one is the Sports Edition, a wider case on a different strap. This is the 40mm on black leather, which wears closer to the original proportions.

Does it need winding every day?
Yes. There is no rotor. Turn the crown clockwise until it stops, and you have roughly 42 hours before it needs it again.

Estimated delivery is 2–4 weeks from order confirmation. Each watch is built, inspected, and securely packed before dispatch. Tracking is shared once your order ships.

Returns are accepted for manufacturing defects, functional faults, or if the delivered watch is materially different from what was promised. A clear, continuous unboxing video showing the sealed package, shipping label, and issue is required to assess the claim.
