Three counters and a moon. This Seagull 1963 puts a pointer date in the subdial at 12, running seconds at 9 and a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3, then opens a scalloped window at 6 onto a navy disc with a gold moon and gold stars. A line of red Chinese script sits under the window.

The dial is cream with a light texture, applied gold-tone numerals at 2, 4, 8 and 10, gold wedges between them, and three counters finished with fine concentric rings. The hour and minute hands are blued. The central chronograph hand is red and carries a small red star.

The extra complications mean a different calibre. This one runs the hand-wound Seagull ST1908, the column-wheel chronograph with a date and a moon added on top: 21 jewels, 21,600 beats an hour, about 42 hours from a full wind. No rotor. The crown wants a turn every day. The upper pusher runs the timer, the lower one clears it. While the watch keeps going, the moon disc advances a step every twenty-four hours.

Factory-original Seagull, sold exactly as it arrives. Polished 316L steel, 40mm across and 50.5mm lug to lug, under a boxed sapphire. It leaves on a 20mm olive green nylon strap with steel hardware, packed in the maker's tin with tag and papers. Delivery is 2 to 4 weeks.

Common questions

How does the pointer date work?
The blued hand in the counter at 12 sweeps a 1 to 31 ring instead of showing the date in a window. It steps at midnight with the movement, so after a short month you move it on by hand.

Is this built here like the rest of the site?
No, it is not a mod. Everything else in the catalogue is assembled here in India on a Seiko movement. This one comes from Sea-Gull complete and ships to you sealed in its own box.

Does the moon need setting?
Only when the watch has been left to stop. While it is running the disc advances on its own, one step a day, and the shape in the window follows the real moon.

How long does a wind last?
About 42 hours. Turn the crown clockwise until it stops, once a day, and it will not run down on you. Two days in a drawer and it stops.

Estimated delivery is 2–4 weeks from order confirmation. Each watch is built, inspected, and securely packed before dispatch. Tracking is shared once your order ships.

Returns are accepted for manufacturing defects, functional faults, or if the delivered watch is materially different from what was promised. A clear, continuous unboxing video showing the sealed package, shipping label, and issue is required to assess the claim.
