SEAGULL 1963 | Black Edition 38mm
All products are custom-built and not affiliated with any official brands. We do not sell counterfeit or replica products.
Black case, cream dial. That is the whole difference between this and the standard Seagull 1963 in 38mm. The 316L steel case, both pump pushers and the knurled crown carry a matte black coating, and under the boxed sapphire nothing changes: the cream dial, its applied gold-tone numerals, the wedges, blued hands, a red chronograph hand and the red star over 21 ZUAN. The name refers to the case, nothing else. There is no lume and no date.
Factory-original, resold in the state it reached us from Tianjin Sea-Gull, case unopened. Inside is the hand-wound ST1901, an ST19 family column-wheel chronograph with 21 jewels, beating at 21,600 bph with about 42 hours on a full wind. It carries the blue swan neck regulator, a curved spring on the balance cock that lets a watchmaker fine-tune the rate.
Hand-wound means it runs only if you wind it. Turn the crown each morning until it stops and the day is covered. The upper pusher runs the red hand and halts it, the lower returns it to zero. The register at 3 counts the minutes, up to 30.
It comes on an 18mm black nylon NATO with a red stripe down the middle. The buckle and keepers are plain steel, stamped with a star, so they sit silver against the black case. It ships in the maker's foam-lined tin inside a navy sleeve, with the hang tag, manual and QR authenticity card. Delivery is 2 to 4 weeks.

Common questions
Is the dial black as well?
No. Only the case is black, along with its pushers and crown. The dial is the same cream as the plain steel 1963, with gold-tone numerals and blued hands. Every photo on this page shows it.
Is this one of your own builds?
No. The rest of this site is mods on Seiko movements, our own work. This one is a complete watch from Tianjin Sea-Gull and we sell it as it reaches us.
Why is the buckle silver when the case is black?
Because that is how the maker ships it. The NATO comes with plain steel hardware, a star and RED STAR stamped on the buckle. The lugs are 18mm, so a strap with black hardware is an easy swap if it bothers you.
Does it handle water?
Rain and hand-washing, yes. Swimming, no. The crown pulls out rather than screwing down, so keep it pushed in.
Estimated delivery is 2–4 weeks from order confirmation. Each watch is built, inspected, and securely packed before dispatch. Tracking is shared once your order ships.
Returns are accepted for manufacturing defects, functional faults, or if the delivered watch is materially different from what was promised. A clear, continuous unboxing video showing the sealed package, shipping label, and issue is required to assess the claim.
