The red star sits under 12 with 21 ZUAN beneath it, the jewel count in the movement. Nothing on the dial is there for decoration, which is why the 1963 layout has survived this long.
The Seagull 1963 was drawn as an air force chronograph and this 40mm version keeps that dial with a modern case. Polished 316L steel, two pushers at 2 and 4 with the crown between them, a boxed sapphire standing proud of the bezel, and a glass back engraved 1963 with stars and Chinese characters around the rim.
Inside is the hand-wound ST1901, 21 jewels, 21,600 beats an hour, about 42 hours from a full wind. The source says it carries the blue swan neck regulator. Give the crown a wind when you put it on. Upper pusher times, lower pusher clears. There is no lume on this version, so it reads by daylight only.
Factory-original, sold as it arrives from Tianjin Sea-Gull, on a 20mm olive green nylon strap. Tin, hang tag and papers travel with it. Delivery is 2 to 4 weeks.

The same cream dial comes in three cases on this site. The 40mm is the middle one and suits most wrists. Go up for presence, down if you like a watch that sits inside the cuff.
Is it a mod like the rest of the catalogue?
No. Our own watches are assembled here in India on Seiko movements. This is a Sea-Gull, made and cased by them, and we pass it on sealed.
Does it glow in the dark?
No. This version has no lume on the dial or hands. If you want a glow, look at the Lume and Bronze Lume listings, which have lume-filled hands and hour dots.
What does 21 ZUAN mean?
Jewels. Zuan is the Chinese word, and the number is how many synthetic ruby bearings the movement runs on, in this case 21. It is printed on the dial the way the original was.
