SEAGULL 1963 | Lume 38mm
All products are custom-built and not affiliated with any official brands. We do not sell counterfeit or replica products.
The hands on this Seagull 1963 are filled with green lume, and it shows in daylight: against the cream dial they read pale green rather than plain blued steel. In the dark they glow, and so do twelve dots on the outer track, one an hour. The numerals stay dark. Otherwise this is the standard 1963 in its 38mm case.
The case is polished 316L steel, 47mm lug to lug, 12.70mm deep. Gold-tone Arabic numerals with triangle markers, a 30-minute counter at 3, running seconds at 9, a red star under 12 with 21 ZUAN beneath it. Above 6 the dial reads 中国制造 and then 71周年, made in China and 71st anniversary. The render at the top of this page omits that line. The watch has it.
Inside is the Seagull ST1901, a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph from the ST19 family. 21 jewels, 21,600 bph, about 42 hours from a full wind. Both versions here carry the blue swan neck regulator, behind a glass caseback engraved 1963 with stars. It is a factory-original Seagull, resold in the state Tianjin Sea-Gull shipped it. Nobody here opens the case.
No rotor, so it only runs if you wind it. One wind in the morning lasts the day. Press one pusher to run the red hand and halt it, the other to reset. Choose the glass at checkout, domed acrylic or boxed sapphire. It ships on an 18mm olive green NATO with steel hardware, and it is not a numbered edition. Delivery is 2 to 4 weeks.

Common questions
Did Timelabs build this one?
No. Every other watch on this site is our own build around a Seiko movement. This one is made start to finish by Tianjin Sea-Gull and reaches you in the factory box with the factory papers. We never open the case.
What glows in the dark?
The hour and minute hands, which carry green lume, and a small dot at each of the twelve hour positions outside the numerals. Nothing else. The numerals themselves stay dark, so do the subdial hands and the red chronograph hand, so at night you get the time and only the time. Daylight or a lamp charges it.
Which glass, acrylic or sapphire?
Acrylic is domed and soft. Hairline marks show up after a few years of wear and they polish out with a cloth and a bit of paste. Sapphire is boxed: a raised top with curved sides. It stays clear in normal use. The watch underneath is the same either way. For daily wear, sapphire. If you want the dome, acrylic.
How does the chronograph work?
Two pushers on the right of the crown. One starts and stops the red centre hand, the other sends it back to zero. The small dial at 3 counts the minutes, up to 30. The one at 9 is ordinary running seconds and has nothing to do with the chronograph. Underneath it is a column wheel, the same arrangement as the Swiss Venus 175 this calibre descends from.
Estimated delivery is 2–4 weeks from order confirmation. Each watch is built, inspected, and securely packed before dispatch. Tracking is shared once your order ships.
Returns are accepted for manufacturing defects, functional faults, or if the delivered watch is materially different from what was promised. A clear, continuous unboxing video showing the sealed package, shipping label, and issue is required to assess the claim.
